Role summary

Under the supervision of the Director of Engineering and the Head of Programming, the incumbent optimizes automated equipment, develops solutions, ensures their commissioning at customers’ sites and provides technical support. He acts as a technical expert and ensures compliance with the company’s procedures and standards

Main responsabilities

  • Propose technical alternatives to optimize the expected results;
  • Collect the necessary information from clients or the project manager to fully understand the needs;
  • Program equipment, including operator interfaces, using the company’s software;
  • Participate in the functional analysis and develop a programming plan;
  • Perform internal testing, commissioning at customer sites and maintenance of facilities;
  • Produce technical manuals associated with projects and ensure knowledge transfer to clients;
  • Offer remote technical support and be available for service calls.

To be successfull in this role

  • Hold a DEC in Industrial Electronics/Automation, Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or any combination of relevant training/experience;
  • Experience in programming and electrical automation;
  • Mastery of the Allen-Bradley environment: PLCs, HMI interfaces;
  • Structure, autonomy, rigor and meticulousness;
  • Availability for short trips (Canada and the United States);
  • Advanced English required in order to converse with the various English-speaking clients.
